Conventional security assessments of publicly accessable buildings utilise target-hardening methods which is proven to inflame volatile situations. WARN International’s methodology addresses risk elimination and mitigation through a research-based approach that centres on Human Factors and Ergonomics for risk mitigation, along with Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design and involving the Psychology of Safety practices.

Our assessments meet the standards as required by the NZ Government Protective Security Requirements (PRC) relating specifically to Personnel and Physical Security. Additionally, we consider personnel safety in accordance with the NZ Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.

Methodology of Assessment

Reviews are conducted in three phases:

  1. Meeting with key stakeholders.

  2. Review of each facility - exterior & interior environment, escape routes, and places of refuge.

  3. Construction and submission of the final report.

Each assessment takes 30 to 60 minutes on site where we speak with the facility manager about their concerns and identified hotspots.

Where applicable, we offer three standards of resolution - Gold, Silver, Bronze.

The final report consists of a 15-page checklist followed by a list of recommendations accompanied by photographs.
